On May 11, Academician J. Fraser Stoddart, the Nobel Prize laureatein 2016, visited Sichuan University and delivereda wonderful lecture entitled "Molecular Machinery". Prof. Stoddart introduced and presented supramolecular chemistry and other frontier technologies in avividly way. He shared his experience and perception in over 50 years' chemistry research, and encouraged young students to study diligently and explore bravely.
After the speech, Yan Shijing, Vice President of Sichuan University, met with Prof. J. Fraser Stoddart. The relevant personnel of SCU attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Prof. Yan expressed his gratitude to Mr. J. Fraser Stoddart for his years of support to SCU students. He hoped that Prof. J. Faser Stoddart couldvisit SCU more frequently and offer more lectures and guidance for the construction of disciplines, personnel training and scientific research of Sichuan University.
SCU attaches great importance to international cooperation and exchanges, Mr. J. Fraser Stoddart said, adding that SCU students are passionate about scientific research. I would like to help more Sichuan University students to conduct exchange and further study in first-class universities in the United States, he noted.
